So, after a good nights rest, at 0630 I go down for coffee….it’s a dispenser in the casino with powdered cream, totally disgusting, took one sip and dumped it, poor.
Oh, internet notes dress code, huh? This is farm country, agreed many guests are well to do, but their dress code is a clean plaid shirt, clean bibs and ball cap. Salad and escargot arrive, he comes finally, “would you like another”?…too late I’m dining. Meanwhile I’ve consumed my cocktail, would like another, no bar tender. Get my drink, order escargot (excellent), shrimp ( little overcooked but good), risotto (very good) and a Caesar salad. Sit at empty bar (great view), no bartender, he’s around corner watching TV. Back to room, which was very nice, shower, go to 12th floor for a cocktail and dinner. Decide to peruse casino, very small and smoky, yuk. Ended up 1/2 a block away, and climb hill back to hotel, always a challenge for a Nam vet. Load my gear, up to room, unload, return cart to 1st floor and attempt to find a parking spot close.
Really? So I check in, luggage carts are in a locked room. Sign indicates they have discontinued valet and luggage service. Help with luggage, valet park, excellent. When we stayed at Harrah’s Laughlin NV we were met by friendly helpful staff.
